(Ported from the OZFurry Mailing list)
We're pleased to announce the FurDU website is officially up and running and taking registrations for April 23rd -25th at the Gold Coast in Queensland.
For those unsure of what FurDU is about, it's a light furmeet held over the Anzac Day long weekend promoting good fun both in and outside of the hotel "Vibe" just off Surfers Paradise. The Vibe Hotel is within easy walking distance from all fast food outlets, coles/woolies as well as a strip of fancy restaurants and pubs to cater for any budget. Whilst staying at the hotel is by no means compulsory, we have been given discount rates for the weekend at $149 per room per night for a maximum of two people and extra $30 per room per night for an additional guest. We are offering free table space on the Sunday to set up any art or wares they wish to sell but purely on a first come first basis, however only people who have registered will have access to it.
Registration is $30 for the entire weekend which covers:
* Booking of the conference area for the dance on Friday night
* Use of the games/movie area.
* Conference room for party games, socializing, internal events (TBA) and access to the artist area on the Sunday.
* Pending on numbers we get signed up a conbag with misc. goodies.
* First 40 to register receive a generic tail again on a first come first serve basis.
* Those who do not register will not be allowed to utilize these events
Events that are not covered by registration and are open to everyone (registered or not) include
*Kingtut’s Putt Putt Adult Prices. 1 course - $13, 2 courses - $17, All 3 Courses $20. (Concession prices are $3 less on each price).
*Time Zone Super Combo is $25 for 3 hours of play. Including unlimited non prize games for 2 hours, 15 plays at ticket games, 3 Prize Games, 2 rides on the Dodgem Cars, 1 round of Laser Tag, 1 Mini Golf game and 1 motion simulator ride.
Being a major tourist destination the Vibe is unable to block-hold any rooms for FurDU so it's important that you book your room early to avoid disappointment.
Additional information and registration is available on http://furrydownunder.com/index.html. T shirt orders will be available in the next coming weeks as well as a detailed schedule of events. Room share and transportation topics are currently being arranged in these forums.
Looking forward to seeing you there,
-Drake
