Also! Here is another thing to think about... 2013 celebrates Canberra's 100th birthday! And there is loads of awesome stuff going on all year 'round.. plus free buses to some of the notable places to visit like, both Parliament houses, the art museum, questacon, and the war memorial... *shrug* just alot of interesting thing to do this year! X"D >>

Personally...I'm thinking sunday after brekky of going to Questacon instead of more photos... just 'cause i wanna go so bad!!

Generally speaking, their own cars, given part of the meet up is to show them off. I'm not sure what alternative arrangements exist - especially when it's on in a day and a half.

Welcome to Furstralia, by the way. *waves handfin* o/

Also, just some last updates pulled from the FB event page on Saturday, starting with the detailed schedule (including logo and mandatory Jad car shot, minus otter posing over it :P):

* note: Google Map links:
- Civic meet-up point [near the Legislative Assembly] - note, may need to pay for this parking as still Sat morning, about $2 for an hour
- Cotter Avenue recreation area for the BBQ
- Tidbinbilla tracking station [Discovery Drive - don't forget the turn-off!]
- Capital Executive Apartments [108 Northbourne Av Braddon - just 2 blocks north of where Civic starts]
- Gus' cafe [Garema Place, Civic]
- Int'l flag display/Questacon [in the suburb of Parkes]

And some specifics:

Saturday night: The function room proceedings will start at 9pm until midnight. The photoshooting at Tidbinbilla will probably be over at sunset, so you've probably got a couple hours to head off for dinner, whether that be a Kingsley's hit or something more upmarket ;) (like the Haig Italian Restaurant in our function venue!).
Remember, it's a $5 cover charge to get in (to the evening function, not the chicken place!) - please don't be a tightarse or all JED FREE REGO PLZ, after all, what price warmth on a crisp winter's evening! :)

Questacon: As Vixen alluded to above; it's pretty much a drop-punt away from the International Flag Display meeting point on Sunday (and that's from 11am). To summarise from the FB event page: they're happy to let you suit in there, as long as you're on your best behaviour :). You can suit in the foyer, or it sounds like you can suit inside the paid area too (cost is $23, concession $17.50).

I'll be heading out to the Saturday stuff (head cold permitting!). Just... for the interstate folk, remember that it's Canberra, and it gets quite cold in Canberra. ;)

That's all. See you there! :)

Just a small heads-up as to the next one of these:

CBRFUR 4 is currently scheduled for Fri 21 - Sun 23 February.

Yes, that's two and a half days this time; Friday night to Sunday arvo.

Early days yet so details are still very scratchy, but a summary of what's been posted on the FB page:

Friday night is probably just going to be some quiet drinks or something; perhaps a night cruise if the weather is good.

Saturday will likely be similar to CBRFUR 3's setup, with a little more effort put into the Saturday night venue (not that last time was bad at all!).

Sunday [s]is up in the air but it's best to contact Jad if you have any ideas.

updated Nov 6

- Looks like it's going to be the same hotel as last time - the Capital Executive Apartments in Braddon (108 Northbourne Av).

- Sunday's suiting going to be based at the Telstra Tower at Black Mountain. Quote Jad: "they have allowed for us to go up to all the normally publicly accessible levels in suit, there is a small entry fee, but there's some great views and things to take photos with". Entry is $7.50 adult, $3 concession.

That's all. :)
