After lots of poking around... Might probably be getting the Nikon D7000...
Its equivalent to the lower end of canons professional range of cameras, and only $1500 ^^

I want a 7D as my next camera. I have an old 20D right now and love it but I'd like to get a little more megapixels and faster shutter speeds as well as higher ISO and image quality. The great thing about the 7D is that you can crank up the ISO and get good indoor or low light images without having to use a flash.

Yup, I believe the 5D is slightly better in low light though
