Ah well, I guess KeioWolf just missed out on the perfect 'advance starter kit'. But may I ask you still use the TC-80N3 and the lenses for the 7D, why sell them? I personally have the identical remote and it is quite expensive... Why not keep it?

I have a friend that might be interested in getting the remote. What price are you offering it if sold standalone?

I'm selling that remote because it's only compatible with the 550D, not the 7D. And it's not actually an original, it's a cheap (perfectly and equally functional) copy that i got for about $25
As for the lenses, I'm keeping my 50mm, but i'm selling the 17-85mm because i'm upgrading to either a 24-70mm f2.8L or a 24-105mm f4L IS, probably the latter

Ta~ It looked like the original Canon remote from the image provided. If that is the case, then nevermind about it.

Good choice of lens, I will go for the Canon EF 24-70 mm f/2.8 L USM. However! Hold your wallet just there, I heard from news saying Canon is releasing a Canon EF 24-70 mm f/2.8 L USM II sometime in October. So you might want to wait a bit... I am not completely sure with the specification, but some says it might have an IS system.

After chatting to a guy at Camera house for a bit, i think i've decided i'll go for the 24-105 anyway. It's sharper overall, and the IS is better for video, which i would do a lot with the 7D. The reason i'd originally go for the 24-70 would be for the low aperture, which (as he reminded me) i can use my 50mm f1.8 for, and also 105mm at f4 has shallower depth of field than 70mm at f2.8

A f/2.8 from an L is a lot different from a regular f/1.4 (or f/1.8 ). Yeah, the EF 24-105 mm f/4.0 L IS USM does offer a bigger zoom range. Looking forward to see more of your photographs.
